NCB, LIME and Supreme Ventures partner to restore the Darling St. Police Station

National Commercial Bank (NCB) Jamaica Ltd. mobilized financial assistance for the restoration of the Darling Street Police Station, through a corporate partnership with LIME and Supreme Ventures. Six million dollars was presented to the Ministry of National Security at a cheque handover ceremony held on the grounds of the Darling Street Police Station in response to the recent civil unrest which resulted in the destruction of police station in the West Kingston region.
Patrick Hylton, Group Managing Director, NCB, stated, “This cheque for $6 million dollars represents so much more than just the restoration of a building. It is a new beginning, a new opportunity for citizens and law enforcement to join forces against the ails of the community and build a better society for their families.”
Garfield Sinclair, Managing Director of Customer Segment, LIME singled out NCB for driving the initiative and for being the leader in terms of corporate social responsibility. Paul Hoo, Chairman, Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) expressed his appreciation for being a part of the project and commended the men and women of the Jamaica Constabulary Force for selflessly carrying out their duties despite the inherent dangers.
Prime Minister Bruce Golding stated that this is the type of corporate relationship and support he likes to see and pointed out that the partnership between the private sector and government is critical for Jamaica going forward.
Each company donated Two Million Dollars towards the restoration effort.
